Gearing up the future of undersea defence

As the largest international event dedicated to undersea defence technology, UDT reflects the community’s desire for continuous learning and development. This year, we are delighted to host a Next Generation (NextGen) Programme, which will allow free access to 60 budding undersea defence enthusiasts who have a keen interest in exploring the latest advancements within the industry.

Our experts dived deep into this topic, whilst addressing the agenda on Wednesday 8 June and Thursday 9 June. The registration for this event is now closed. If you still would like to take part, get in touch.

More about the NextGen Programme

This programme will focus on the undersea climate security nexus: The relation between undersea defense technologies and climate change challenges. There are various next generation challenges for armed forces, industrial actors and research institutes in the undersea climate security nexus.

Topics that will be discussed:

  • Defence strategies for offshore wind farms.
  • The influence of Carbon Capture & Sequestration on the undersea environment.
  • Deep-sea mining of rare earth metals for the energy transition.
  • The role of the military/industry/academics in these topics.

Calling out to all members of the UDT community!

Do you want to reduce the time and effort you spend competing over skills and talent in STEM fields? Do you want to be able to show clear career pathways for future talent?

  • Gain a competitive advantage by speaking directly to the NextGen participants wearing blue lanyards and help your recruits of tomorrow gain expertise in relevant areas on Wednesday.

Do you want a thriving talent supply chain that constantly meets the future need of your operational requirements?

  • Share ideas and insights with academia, the private sector and the military about issues that inspire your potential recruits at the DisTec Theatre on Thursday - align academic focus with future skills requirements.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Martyna who will be delighted to discuss available options that best suit your requirements.
