Alexander Karpinski

Mr. Alexander Karpinski, is the Division Director at EaglePicher Technologies, Yardney Division. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. For over forty years at EaglePicher/Yardney, Mr. Karpinski has worked in many facets of management and battery technology. He managed various functions which focused on technical leadership roles, Operations, Product Assurance, and Business Development. Although his experience is well founded with the silver zinc couple his technical expertise includes many electrochemistries. These are silver cadmium, nickel hydrogen, nickel cadmium, silver metal hydride, aluminum silver oxide, magnesium silver chloride (seawater battery), lithium primary and secondary systems (lithium ion), and metal air batteries. He has over twenty-two publications related to battery and capacitor technology, two patents and one provisional patent pending, and had contributed to various text books including updating the Silver Zinc Technology Chapters in the last three editions of the Handbook of Batteries (Linden and Reddy) and as a co-author of Elsevier’s 2010 and 2023 Encyclopedia of Electrochemical Power Sources on silver zinc technology.
