Christian von Oldershausen

Christian von Oldershausen started his professional career in the German Navy sailing on destroyers and frigates as Marine Engineering Officer and Weapons Engineering Officer for seven years. Christian looks back to a diversified involvement in the international maritime industry over a period of more than 40 years, having gained his management and project development experience through such positions as CEO of a Tanker and Offshore shipping company, as MD in charge of the shipping investment activities of a leading finance syndicator, and as the head of shipbuilding of a large German Industrial Group which included overseas postings.
After being Germanischer Lloyd’s Chief Commercial Officer prior to the merger with DNV he is now DNV’s Naval Business Director.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering of the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal German Armed Forces, Hamburg and participated in an International Business Post-Graduate program at the University of Houston.
