Ioseba (Joe) Tena is Commercial Director at Forcys. Joe is a well-recognised and successful leader in the unmanned maritime systems and sensors industry with more than 25 years’ experience working with marine autonomous systems. Forcys is a global maritime defence company. Backed by 50 years of expertise in the underwater domain and an in-house developed technology portfolio, Forcys delivers, integrates and supports customer-shaped solutions for navies and defence organisations, helping them to defend and project battlespace advantage above and below the surface. Prior to joining Forcys, Joe was Head of Defence at Sonardyne a leading supplier of navigation and communication payloads for the underwater domain. Earlier Joe was one of the founders of SeeByte an advanced software for underwater vehicles company. Joe has a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, where he was also a Research Associate at the university’s Ocean Systems Laboratory, focusing on the use of sensors to improve situational awareness for underwater robots.
