Dr. Odysseas Kechagias Stamatis
Odysseas Kechagias Stamatis, PhD, has a background in defence technologies and autonomous systems, and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer and Director of the Missiles Department at AKMON S.A. (Greece). His career spans over two decades across military service, academia, and international research programs, blending technical expertise with leadership.
As a former Hellenic Navy Officer, Odysseas held commanding roles aboard warships, specialising in electronics, weapons, and missile systems from both operational and technical perspectives. He earned his MSc in Guided Weapon Systems and PhD in Defence and Security, both from Cranfield University.
Odysseas has held academic roles as a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University and City University of London, and has participated in numerous EU- and UK-funded projects on threat detection/classification and GNSS-denied navigation for autonomous platforms. His current role at AKMON S.A. reflects his commitment to European defence autonomy, modular system design, technological resilience, and technological advancement.
