Peter Menzel studied physics with focus on atmospheric physics and lidar. After his degree he made his PhD in Engineering, where he worked on fluid mechanics and turbulent mixing processes in the ocean. Further positions at the Leibnitz Institute for Baltic Sea Research and at the Chair of Ocean Engineering brought him to the Fraunhofer IGD where he is responsible for the Digital Ocean Lab. Peter Menzel is also working for a national Transmission System Operator and is CEO of a Corvus Works.
