Joining Forces towards a Common Goal: Enabling C2 of Unmanned Systems across Multiple Domains, Nations and Platforms

08 Dec 2020
  • Autonomous unmanned systems have the potential to, and are already, being employed to augment and replace human operators in conducting dull, dangerous, dirty and difficult tasks. AEUK’s multi-role, reconfigurable ARCIMS Unmanned Surface Vessel, supported by mission specific payloads, is already providing autonomous mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare capabilities
  • This is underpinned by AEUK’s platform agnostic autonomy system comprising an on-board control unit, command and control, HMI and displays, situational awareness and collision avoidance, and autonomous behaviours
  • This paper explores future requirements and developments in maritime autonomy and the opportunities and challenges in fielding this capability across the broader spectrum of maritime warfare
